Edison Elementary PTA
Making a Difference One Member at a Time
The Edison PTA is a committed collaboration of
parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, and school administration.
Our Mission:
To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
The Edison PTA completes a variety of tasks/activities.
Providing Learning Resources – The PTA purchases subscriptions to online learning programs (IXL, RAZ Kids, ect), magazine subscriptions and reading materials for classrooms and the school library.
Supporting Classroom Learning - The PTA funds are used to support teachers and students by providing equal paraprofessional time to all classrooms.
Supporting Families - Through online and in-person events, the PTA hosts speakers to engage all families in supporting students.
Community Events – The PTA is proud to bring the Edison student body, teachers, and families together for events such as Fall Festival, Family Dance, Field Day, Enrichment Day, Science Fair, School Spruce Up Days and Pastries with Parents. The PTA also supports our students by providing the funds for Tutoring and Enrichment (before and after school programs/clubs) Scholarship Programs.
Financial Support to Edison Elementary School – Events such as the Eagle Run, Read-a-Thon, EdFest, Community Nights, Kroger Community Program and School Supplies allow the Edison PTA to fund enrichment and support programs for the Edison staff and students.
Engaging Community Volunteers- Without the PTA's community volunteers, these great programs would not be.
The Edison PTA has three big fundraisers where we ask for help from our community.
Eagle Run (Fall)
The Eagle Run is an Edison Fundraiser for Paras for the following school year.
Our students and teachers are able to succeed with extra help in the classroom...that is what the Edison Para's do for our community.
Eagle Read-A-Thon (Winter Break)
The Read-A-Thon is a fundraiser for Books in the Edison Library, Class Libraries, and for subscriptions, the students use in addition to physical reading materials.
It is also a way to keep our students reading during the Winter Break.
Kids keep a log of how many minutes they read and gain pledges per minute.
Because of this simple fundraiser...our libraries have wonderful books in them and we are able to get fun subscriptions for the kids to use to help with reading.
EdFest (Spring, Adult Party)
Edfest is our adult fundraiser!
We have wonderful auction items to help raise money for the general PTA Fund.
Each Class makes a basket to be auctioned off, plus we get awesome auction items from the community.
The PTA General Fund funds field trips, tutoring, teacher appreciation week, enrichment scholarships, and much more.
Last year we were able to raise money to purchase new permanent soccer goals for the school
